I'd like to use this space for any items of interest - and hopefully they will be happy ones (Cheryl Lee)! Although this isn't news, I'll share with all of you what happened to me yesterday. One day I'll look back and laugh - in the meantime, you can have a laugh on me.

While I was at the pool, the hoses to my washing machine broke and my basement flooded (for 3 hours). As I was hysterically trying to shut off the water and call the fire department it started raining - and the top was down on my car. The rain turned into what we refer down South as a gully washer - Reston got 4 inches of rain in 2 hours. And water started pouring in through all the windows in my house. Bruce and Colin were up in Baltimore at a Red Sox game. So there's Risa trying to pull up carpet, move furniture, call insurance, get emergency water-clean-up people out, and stick knives in all the window casements so the water would drain OUT and not IN. Believe me, I've seen Hell and it's wet!

I got this news from Elly a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to print it until now. But it was worth the wait - trust me. Elly is happy to announce that she is getting married on October 28. His name is Perry, she met him at a party (hey, it's better than a laundromat!), and she is very very excited. So, everyone, be sure to send Elly an email congratulating her!

Well, this is better-late-than-never news. I went to Elly and Perry's wedding (at a really pretty park in Hartford, where they actually met) and it was quite lovely. :) Perry is a really neat guy - Bruce and I talked to him for quite a while during dinner. I personally think they make a smashing couple and hope they have happiness for many years to come! Also, Cheryl is pleased to announce the birth of her first grand-child - here it is direct from her:

"My daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Billy DeLeo, have their brand new little one. He arrived after 1am this morning [11-26] and weighs 8.5 pounds. His name is Aiden......my new name is Bubby. Love, *** Cheryl Lee *** ".
